Conventional cattle trainers, which use electric shocks to force the animals to deposit their faeces at a particular location, were removed from their usual designated place and presented within exhibition space. In this way their universal, spatial conditioning elements became readable. The electrified construction forces the viewer into a restricted pattern of movements; the punishment for touching the device is an electric shock
